Abstract

539,007. Speed-control mechanism for ring spinning- frames. ALLMANNA SVENSKA ELEKTRISKA AKTIEBOLAGET., and JOHANSSON, A. May 3, 1940, No. 7960. Addition to 399,384. [Class 120 (ii)] The screw 9 regulating the movement of the disc 1 of the speed-regulating arrangements of the parent Specification is driven from the ratchet mechanism of the frame through bevel gearing, the shaft 2041 of the driven gear 204 carrying the screw being turnable about the shaft 2031 driving wheel 203 while the mechanism for returning the screw 105 and associated parts, which regulate the movements of the disc 1 according to the layer speed, to their initial positions at the descent of the ring rail is actuated by gearing connected to the wheel 203. As shown the screw 9 is carried in a frame 2042 oscillatable on the shaft 2031 carrying the driving gear 203 which is fast with a sprocket 218 geared to a sprocket 220 carrying a bevel gear 212 meshing with. a gear 211 on the screw 105 mounted in a sleeve 104 in a frame 209 oscillated from the mechanism giving the rising and falling movements to the ring rail. The screw 17, carrying the member 19 engaging the disc 1, passes through the screw 105 and has a trunnion 170 carrying a hinged detent 215 that can be engaged with one of a series of slots 214 on a stop member 107 and in one of a series of grooves in'a sleeve 216 connected to the sleeve 104 so that the stop is adjustable within the sleeve 104 without moving the returning mechanism out of its position. As spinning proceeds the screw 105 is rotated and moves in the sleeve 104 until it meets the adjustable stop 107 when its movement is transmitted to the screw 17 with the result that the amplitude of the layer speed is reduced to the end of the spinning. The sleeve 216 has grooves engaged by a ball catch 217 which prevents the sleeve being involuntarily turned by friction between the screw 105 and sleeve 104. Specification 411,066 is referred to.
