538,799. Lamps forming a line of light. COLLINS, G. H., and JOHNSON, J. A. Feb. 14, 1940, No. 2798. [Class 75 (iv)] [Also in Group XVIII] A lamp for signs, road kerbs or crossings, shop windows &c. comprises a support or housing for a pair of glass &c. rods g, Fig. 1, arranged end to end and adapted to emit light laterally, a holder for a concealed electric or other light source d being located between the ends of the rods. The lamp-holder c, Fig. 3, may be contained in a housing a, having secured to it on opposite sides concrete &c. blocks c', Fig. 4, recesses h in which contain the rods g. In a modification suitable for shop windows, the rods g are contained in a troughshaped metal support h, Fig. 6, carrying a housing a for a lamp-holder c. The support carries a reflector q. and the lamp is hidden by a screen p. Specification 482,595 is referred to.
