538,530. Concentrating ores. TUCKER. S., and MINERALS SEPARATION, Ltd. March 12, 1940, No. 4661. [Class 82 (ii)] A flotation process for the concentration of tin ores comprises the de-flocculation of the gangue by the addition of an agent such as an alkali or water glass, the use of a frothing agent containing a soap-forming fatty acid such as oleic acid or an alkali salt thereof or a sulphonated fatty acid, and the maintenance of the pH value of the circuit below 7, for example by the use of carbon dioxide as the flotation gas or as a constituent thereof.
