Abstract

537,111. Glazing window frames. SLEIGH, H. L., CHESTON, A. S., and OLDHAM, F. A. M. Nov. 9, 1939, No. 29692. Addition to 442,552. [Class 20 (iii)] In the glazing of windows, the base 5 of a frame on which a channelled rubber edging strip 2 rests is provided with an upstanding rear wall 9 which is inwardly curved or inclined so as to engage the shaped wall 10 of the strip when the latter is in position on the sloping recess 6 which receives the buttress flap 3 and terminates in a lip 7 over which the flap is sprung. The upper surface of the base may be of the form shown in Specification 442,552, with a horizontal part beneath the body of the strip, or, as shown it may have a continuous slope as described in Specifications 503,308 and 521,937. The strip may be solid or may be slit as shown at 4.
