Classes 20(iii) and 20(iv) A window with the glass &c. panel 1 received in a channel 3 in a one or two part rubber &c. glazing means 2 seated on a supporting part 6 has a sheet metal or plastic finishing strip 17, auxiliary to the means which normally hold the glazing means in place, applied against the rubber glazing strip with one longitudinal edge 17a engaged in a groove 16 in the glazing strip and the other longitudinal edge 18 interlockingly engaged with a lip or flange 10 of the frame or surround 6. The surround 6 seats on a flat portion 12 of the frame 11 and has an outer channel 7 terminating in an upstanding flange 10 substantially level with the flat base 5 of the surround and a short forwardly curled rear wall 8. The glazing strip 2 seating on the flattened part 5 has an integral flexible flap 4' which is sprung into the channel 7 to secure the strip, a groove 9 in the rear wall about level with the bottom of channel 3 engaged by the surround wall 8, a rear depending flap which is sprung over wall 13 of the frame 11, and a thickened shouldered portion 15 with an inclined longitudinal groove 16. The edge of strip 17 engaging in groove 16 is bent back at 17a while the other edge is bent to an inverted hook form 18 which engages the part 10 of the surround. The finishing strip 17 may be highly polished or chromium plated. The hook 18 is not visible from the front. The convex strip 17 is applied after the panel and glazing strip have been mounted by interengaging the hook 18 and then springing the part 15 over the edge 17a, or by engaging the part 17a and then springing the hook 18 into engagement with the flange 10, and exerts an oblique inward force on the channel 3.
