Abstract

503,308. Window frames. SLEIGH, H. L., and CHESTON, A. S. Nov. 29, 1938, No. 34667. Addition to 442,552. [Class 20 (iii)] The laterally - extending flange portion 3 of the resilient glazing member described in the parent Specification is hingedly joined to the upper edge of the outer wall 4, in order to reduce friction between the flange 3 and the raised retaining lip 13 of the window frame during insertion of the window pane. The flange 3 is formed with a rib 7 which engages in a recess at the base of the channel wall 4, and the other wall 2 of the channel is recessed at 14 for the reception of the folded-over top edge 10 of the frame. According to a modification, the base of the channel wall 2 may be recessed in a manner similar to the wall 4, and engage with a shoulder formed on the window frame.
