Abstract
607,425. Glazing. YOUNG, W. Feb. 4, 1946, No. 3432. [Class 20(iii)] A window assembly comprises a glass or other pane l in a continuous channel of an enclosing rubber &c. glazing moulding e having on one side a projecting resilient flange i with lip k, in combination with an enclosing pan or frame a having an angled or curved retaining flange d with which the lip k co-operates when the moulding with the pane is being pushed into position, the flange i being flexed until the moulding is in position when the lip k snaps over the edge of the flange d to secure the pane &c. The beading h of the moulding co-operates first with the guiding flange c of the frame and then the strip c' causing the base of the moulding to be obcausing the base of the moulding to be distorted and the pane gripped more firmly. The shape of the flange d may be varied, and the flange i may be cut at i<1> to increase its flexibility. The moulding is removed by first raising the lip and then pushing the moulding. Two channels may be provided to form double windows, one or both of which should be arranged to slide.
