Abstract

530,985. Windows for vehicles. SLEIGH, H. L., CHESTON, A. S., and OLDHAM, F. A. M. June 29, 1939, No. 18914. [Class 20 (iii)] A window pane 9 particularly for motor and other vehicles has its edge enclosed in one or more rubber or other glazing strips 1 of the kind described in any of Specifications 442,552, 498,732, 503,308 and 505,960, which strips are seated upon separate base members 2 secured to the four edges of the window aperture, and comprise a main horizontal or sloping portion and an upstanding front lip 3. An apertured plate 4 is secured to the outside of the window opening in such a way that its inner edge portion 10 forms a flange extending into the window aperture above the base members 2 and forms an abutment or support for the outer face of the rubber glazing strip. The flange may have various shapes (Figs. 3-7 not shown).
