512,553. Glazing windows. HUNTER SASH CO., Inc. Jan. 26, 1939, No. 2710. Convention date, Oct. 31, 1938. [Class 20 (iii)] A mounting for a glass or like panel 2 comprises a channelsection frame 1 provided with a flange 4 which overlaps the edge of the panel 2 and against which the latter is pressed by a resilient retaining strip 9 comprising a body portion 14, which is compressed between the other flange 5 of the frame and the face of the panel, and a foot portion 11 which engages the peripheral edge of the panel and is spaced from the outer wall 17 of the frame. A resilient backing layer 7 may, be placed between the panel and the flange 4, and the latter may be provided with a projecting rib 19 spaced a small distance from the foot of the retaining strip, for the purpose of preventing outward movement of the foot due to vibration. In the normal unstrained condition, the body portion 14 of the retaining strip makes an acute angle with the foot portion 11. Specification 450,293 is referred to.
