Abstract

535,977. Bellows pumps. COSTA, H. DA., and PLESSEY CO., Ltd. Oct. 25, 1939, No. 28704. [Class 102(i)] In a bellows pump the inlet and outlet connections 25, 39 are carried by the pump body 10 and the cylinders 16 and bellows 13 are removably mounted on the pump body so as to be replaceable without disturbing the inlet and outlet connections. Each bellows 13 is secured to a base 12 which is clamped at its periphery between the pump body and a flange 17 on the cylinder 16 screwed into a cylindrical socket 11 on the pump body. Proper location of the bellows is ensured by means of dowels 15. The base 12 has a tubular guide 19 for the reciprocating rod 20 connected to an eccentric 23, and the inlet connection 25 houses a filter 26. The inlet connection 25 communicates with inlet valves 29, preferably in the form of spring-loaded discs, whilst the outlet connection 39 communicates with delivery valves 36, preferably of spherical form. Interchangeable tubular inlet and delivery valve cages 40 are removably housed in the valve chambers 28, 35, and a by-pass valve is fitted at 44.
