Abstract

535,928. Lens fittings for photographic cameras. ZEISS IKON AKT.-GES. Feb. 13, 1939, No. 4712. Convention date, May 17, 1938. [Class 98 (i)] A lens hood axially adjustable on the objective mount of the camera is coupled to the adjusting mechanism of the iris diaphragm of the objective, so that hood and diaphragm are simultaneously adjusted. In its completely retracted position, the hood may surround the objective mount. As shown, the hood 1 has a quick-pitch screw adjustment on a ring 3 screwed to the objective mount at 4, and carries rings 13, 14 acting as limit stops. The adjusting ring 21 of the iris diaphragm 12 carries a pin 22 engaging a hole 24 in a ring 20 rotatable by the inner ends of pins 8, 17 carried by a rotatable ring 18 and engaging at their outer ends cam slots 16, 7 in the hood, so that as the hood is rotated, it is axially displaced, and simultaneously effects the diaphragm adjustment. A diaphragm aperture scale 9 on the hood co-operates with a fixed mark 10 on the objective mount. The ring 3 may serve to receive a filter mount 15.
