Abstract

621,875. Photographic lens fittings. BROWN, L. W., and CRAFT, H. July 19, 1946, No. 21647. [Classes 97 (i) and 98 (i)] A mounting to facilitate attachment of a filter, auxiliary lens, or lens hood, to the objective or other aperture of a camera enlarger, &c., comprises an apertured body receiving the filter &c., at least three arms on the body providing around the aperture locating surfaces equidistant from the optical axis, and a cam ring for displacing the surfaces equally in a direction radial to the optical axis. The body may be integral with a lens hood. As shown, a filter &c. 12 is held by a screwed retaining ring in a metal ring 10 carrying three arcuate spring tongues, the free ends of which are bent at 17 to engage over an objective mount. Rotatably mounted on the ends of the tongues is a cam ring 19 with knurled outer edge and inner edge stepped thrice as at 20 to engage the tips 18 of the spring tongues. On rotating the cam ring, the bent parts 17 of the tongues are moved radially to grip or disengage from the objective mount. The steps of the cam limit rotation of the cam in one direction; opposite rotation is limited by a stop 22.
