Abstract
535,685. Electrically-released switches. ELECTRIC CONSTRUCTION CO., Ltd., and CROSBY, E. N. Feb. 23, 1940, No. 3393. [Class 38 (v)] A time-lag, overload trip gear comprises a two-part solenoid core, the part A being separable from the part B for tripping instantaneously on heavy overload and against the magnetic attraction between the parts and the force of a spring R surrounding a headed pin Q screwed into the part B. On light overloads, the parts A, B move together and by means of a link G and rack H within a sleeve, operate a time-lag device in casing J. The non- magnetic sleeve C is threaded to receive an adjustable member K having an internal sleeve k<1> on which the core-part B normally rests, thus providing for current-setting. A lower sleeve k' is threadedly engaged by a disc M carrying a yoke N engaging trunnions j<1> of the casing J whereby the time-lag can be adjusted and the casing locked by a sleeve P. The head s of the tripping pin S is swaged into a rabbet at the top of core-part A.
