[Class 74 (iii)) The leg part of a sock &c. is fabricated of diamond-shaped gussets, 2, 4, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15, inter-knit as shown by dividing the needles of a circular or other knitting-machine into four groups and knitting by reciprocation on each two groups in turn. To avoid distortion of the fabric, the narrowing lines are kept parallel. The wales may be parallel throughout the leg or not.
