[Class 136 (iii)] A spring mounting for cycle &c. wheels'comprises on each side a flanged cheek plate 3 rigidly attached to a stiffened fork 1, 2, a flat lever 6 pivoted at 7 to the plate 3 and adapted to carry the wheel axle 8, a rod 9 pivoted at 10 to the lever 6 and passing slidably through a slot in the upper flange 4a of the plate 3, a compression spring surrounding the rod 9 between the pivot 10 and the flange 4a, a threaded rod 13 and nut 14 whereby the compression , of the spring 12 may be adjusted by reason of the inclination of the flange 4a, and a flanged cover plate (not shown) adapted to be secured on the outside of the flanged plate 3 to exclude dust &c. A rebound spring 20 is mounted on the upper end of the rod 9 between the flange 4a and a nut 21.
