Abstract

475,625. Vehicle spring suspensions. ZAVODY TATRA AKCIOVA SPOLECNOST PRO STAVBU AUTOMOBILU A ZELEZNICNICH VOZU. March 22, 1937, No. 8382. Convention date, July 8, 1936. [Classes 103 (vi) and 108 (ii)] In road and railway undercarriages in which the wheels are carried by pivoted parallel rods, cross-members are provided for the accommodation of more than one helical spring, preferably arranged on both sides of the rods. The axle 2 is carried, through the brake anchor plate 3 and interconnecting tube 1, by two parallel arms 4, 5 pivoted to the undercarriage at 6, 9 and the arms are provided with bosses 8, 10, in the positions shown, through which pass pivots 11, 12 carried by fork members 13, 14 secured to cross-members 15, 16. These cross-members are provided with interengaging tubular members 20, 21 housing helical springs. The fork 13 is adjustable on the cross-member 15 to adjust the initial compression of springs. More than two springs may be provided, and shock-absorbers may also be provided.
