Drawings to Specification [Class 97 (i)] A simple double-convex lens for use as a collimator &c. has one surface spherical and one paraboloidal or approximately so, the spherical radius being not less than three times nor more than six times the vertex radius of the paraboloidal suface. The refractive index may lie between 1.5 and 1.55 and the clear aperture may be at least half the focal length. Data for one example are set out in the Specification.
