Abstract
1,154,360. Spectacle lenses. CARL ZEISS JENA, VEB. Feb. 1, 1967, No.4932/67. Heading G2J. A spectacle lens has on at least one of its faces Fresnel rings which are concentric with an axis. As shown, Fig. 6, Fresnel rings 34, 35, are formed on the adjacent faces 36, 37, of a transparent case 32 and lid 33 so that the rings are protected. Alternatively they may be protected by a transparent cap or by being contacted by a medium of different refractive index whose opposite face may be curved. The rings may be concentric with an axis which coincides with the optical axis of the lens, is parallel, or orthogonal, thereto, and may be formed on a plane, spherical or aspherical face. The Fresnel rings may beformed as two or more series corresponding to different focal lengths, the rings of each series alternating with one another.
