Abstract
969,020. Drum lenses. KOCKUMS MEKANISKA VERKSTADS A. B. March 28, 1961 [April 1, 1960], No. 11296/61. Heading G2J. A drum lens comprises a pair of annular segments arranged symmetrically of a plane perpendicular to the central drum axis and containing the main axis of the drum lens, the segments having their optic axes in planes parallel to the first plane and disposed on the same side thereof as the respective segments. As shown, the lens comprises two convex lens segments 9a, 9b one on either side of the optic axis 7 of the drum lens and two series of prisms 1, 2, 3 and 4, 5, 6 above and below the segments 9a and 9b respectively. The focal points of the segments 9a, 9b lie on the same side of the axis 7 as the segments and the focal distances are less than the distance from the lens profile to the axis 14 of the drum lens. A plurality of light sources may be arranged round the axis 14, two of which 10 and 16 are shown.
