975,446. Mirror objectives. CARL ZEISS-STIFTUNG, [trading as CARL ZEISS]. Sept. 21,1961 [Sept. 24, 1960], No. 33765/61. Heading G2J. In a mirror objective of the kind having a secondary mirror of deeper curvature than the main mirror and the two connecting systems (each of two lenses) disposed one in front of the secondary mirror and one to the rear of the main mirror, 1. The lenses of each system are of different glass types; 2. The system to the rear of the main mirror is afocal with a focal length more than 150 f, where f is the objective's focal length; and 3. The system in front of the secondary mirror is of negative power and has a focal length less than 1. 5f. f. Optical data are given for one example of the objective shown in which the secondary mirror is formed on the rear surface of the front correcting system.
