868,201. Optical objectives. CHICAGO AERIAL INDUSTRIES Inc. Aug. 8, 1957 [Oct. 16, 1956; Dec. 7, 1956], No. 14310/60. Divided out of 868,200. Class 97(1) An optical objective includes a biconcave lens followed by two positive lenses, a second biconcave lens and a third positive lens, the firstbiconcave lens having at least five times the power of the second biconcave lens. Preferably, and as shown, the first biconcave lens I and the first positive lens II are cemented together as also are the second biconcave lens IV and the third positive lens V. Optical data are given for one example of the objective 10 shown, which has an angle of field of about 85 degrees and which is associated with a field lens 12 having an aspherical surface to correct for distortion introduced by the objective 10. The objective may form the front member of a view-finder as described in Specification 868,200.
