Abstract

532,135. Lead; lead alloys. NATIONAL LEAD CO. July 31, 1939, No. 22198. Convention date, Nov. 10, 1938. [Class 82 (i)] Zinc is removed from lead and lead alloys by agitating the molten lead or alloy with ammonium chloride and removing the zinc chloride formed. The operation may be effected at 400-475‹C. The treatment of an alloy of 60 per cent. of lead and 40 per cent. of tin is referred to.
