Abstract
381,049. Electrolysis. PALMAER, K. W., 60, Sturegatan, Stockholm. Jan. 18, 1932, No. 1463. Convention date, April 30, 1931. [Class 41.] In the electrodeposition of metals more electropositive than the alkali and alkaline earth metals, particularly metals of the eighth group such as iron, into a flowing mercury cathode, the support for the mercury is previously amalgamated. The support should consist of a plate of a metal only slightly soluble in mercury such as a metal of the eighth group or chromium or manganese or an alloy of such metals ; it may be vertical or inclined. Amalgamation is effected by rubbing with acid and mercury or by electrodeposition of mercury. Specifications 16358/02, 10219/06, and 318,149, [all in Class 41, Electrolysis], are referred to.
