529,816. Electric incandescent lamps. CUDRAZ, E. R. BONNEFOY-, and VANDEWALLE, E. C. June 8, 1939, No. 16843. Convention date, April 12. [Class 39 (ii)] Coloured lamps are produced by attaching to the usual clear glass bulb a a hood c of coloured glass or other transparent self-coloured material which covers the upper, lower, or middle part of the bulb, the remaining parts of the bulb being covered by an opaque reflecting layer d chemically deposited or sprayed on. The hood c may be mechanically attached to the bulb, cemented on by a layer of transparent resin, secured by a ring e of glass or metal " solder," or it may be applied to the bulb hot so as to be united therewith. In order to spread the light emitted, hoods having striated or prismatic surfaces may be employed.
