Abstract

507,944. Lamps. McGAWN, T. Q. Feb. 9, 1938, No. 4014. [Class 75 (iv)] In a vehicle or signal lamp, two half discs e of coloured translucent material are pivoted on vertical pins f in a ring d in the casing a so that they can be swung outwardly through 90‹ to intercept the light rays, the lens c being of dome shape for accommodating the discs in the inoperative position. The discs may consist of amber coloured glass or glass having a covering on one or both faces of amber coloured celluloid. The upper or lower pivot pins f may be extended through the casing and fitted with intermeshing pinions, one of the extended pins being provided with an arm h to which is secured a flexible actuating means i operated by a push-pull button j. In a modification, the upper parts of the discs may consist of metal or other opaque material.
