Abstract
526,901. Permanent magnets. RESLO (SOUND EQUIPMENT), Ltd., and MURKHAM. L. W. March 28, 1939. No. 9671. [Class 35] [Also in Group XXXIX] A permanent magnet, especially intended for ribbon microphones, comprises two parallel barlike portions 10a which are adapted to receive pole-pieces 12 defining a linear gap between them, and one or more transverse bridging portions 10b lying behind the bar-like portions. As shown, two spaced bridging portions 10b are provided. The pole-pieces 12 are secured by bolts 11, which may have a small clearance to enable the width of the air gap to be adjusted. The polepieces may also be located by studs on the magnet. The bolts 11 also secure a frame 13 which carries the ribbon 17 with clamping strips 16 and terminal tags 19. The ribbon 17 is formed with three semi-circular depressions 17a.
