Abstract
526,448. Converting. ALLMANNA SVENSKA ELEKTRISKA AKTIEBOLAGET. March 16; 1939, No. 8426. Convention date, March 19, 1938. Drawings to Specification. [Class 38 (ii)] In a converter employing two groups of gridcontrolled discharge devices in Graetz connection, one group of discharge devices is provided with means for injecting short transitory voltages between the anodes for effecting forced commutation while the other group is subject only to grid-controlled commutation. The invention is described with reference to arrangements for interchanging power between D.C. and A.C. networks and between three-phase A.C. networks of different frequency.
Converter tube with oxide cathode and an operating pressure of more than 0.3 mm Hg, for an effective anode alternating voltage of more than 100 V and a rectified current of at least 10 amperes.
