[Classes 20 (i) and 20 (iv)] A cell unit for the construction of buildings has its walls formed of panels of rectangular cross-section alternated with other panels or filling pieces of square cross-section of the thickness of the wall, the latter being capable of separate positioning adjacent the door apertures so that these may be brought into strict alignment for various arrangement of the cells. Fig. 1 shows a cell unit with alternate panels 1, 2 and aperture 3, while Figs. 3 and 4 show an arrangement of cells to form a building before and after rearrangement of the panels 2 to bring the wall apertures into strict alignment. Sections of the filling-pieces may be joined together by internal sleeves 6, Fig 7. The rectangular panels may be formed of hollow frames with metal facings, and the spaces between filled with insulating material, and all the panels may be provided with end lips to abut against upper and lower frame members where provided. The metal facings 14, Fig. 19, may be ribbed to receive the edges of the members 16 of the frames.
