Abstract

522,784. Trousers. LEWIS'S, Ltd., and NAYLOR, W. Dec. 15,1938, No. 36555. [Class 141] Trousers comprise a pair of supporting bands 5, Fig. 1, passing through a slit 3, each strap having its ends secured to buttons 6 on the inside and outside of the waistband. The straps 5 are provided with friction pads 7. In a modification, Figs. 4 and 7, the waistband is provided at each side with a slit 10 through which is passed a supporting strap, consisting of a non-extensible member 13 and an extensible member 12 stitched together at one end 11, and provided with buttonholes for co-operation with buttons 15, 17, on the inside and outside of the trousers' respectively. The inextensible member 13 of each strap is passed through a tunnel formed by the trousers waistband and lining thereof, and the extensible member 12 is provided with a friction pad 16.
