Abstract

521,983. Tuning indicators. M-O VALVE CO., Ltd., and COSGROVE, C. W. Nov. 30, 1938, No. 34883. [Classes 39 (i) and 40 (v)] A tuning indicator for a wireless receiver comprises two shadow electrodes 8, 9 intervening on different lines between the cathode 6 and a cylindrical screen 7 of a cathode ray tube, and means causing the electrodes to approach the potential of the screen at different rates as the receiver approaches tune. The electrodes 8, 9 are connected to the anode of a controlling triode 2, one directly and the other through a resistance 10 or battery whereby it is maintained more negative with respect to the screen. The electrodes of the triode and cathode ray tube may be enclosed in the same envelope, the two cathodes being combined, and the resistances 10, 4 may be arranged within the envelope or in its cap. Specification 506,390 is referred to.
