520,556. Making fittings for cycle handlebars. BURNS, S. B. Nov. 8, 1938, No. 32310. Addition to 479,213. [Class 83 (ii)] [Also in Group XXXI] In forwardly-extending lugs for the stems of cycle handle-bars, formed by welding together a pair of metal pressings as described in the parent Specification, the pressings a', a<SP>2</SP> are united by a longitudinal joint or seam of a lap-welded form, which may, for example, involve inwardly-contracted sides a<SP>3</SP>, Fig. 3, on one part fitted within parallel sides of the other part. The arcuate sections a<SP>5</SP>, a<SP>6</SP> for clamping the handle-bar are fitted with a tubular liner b, which is brazed into position and then split by cutting at b<SP>1</SP>.
