Abstract
479,213. Handle - bars. BURNS. S. B. Sept. 30, 1936, Nos. 26483/36, 266/37, and 5622/37. [Class 136 (iii)] [Also in Group XXII] Relates to fittings for carrying forwardly extended handle-bars of cycles and consists in making such a fitting a, Fig. 1, from two metal stampings shown in Fig. 2, which are welded together longitudinally. The stampings are shown in Fig. 3, after bending to complementary form. Shank parts c<1>, g<1> are flattened and the pillar embracing parts c<2>, g<2> are expanded and metal inserts c<6>, c<7>, g<6>, g<7> are welded into the gaps on opposite sides of the bearing e. A modification is shown in Fig. 8, with a longitudinal weld b as before, but with a detachable bearing section h and with dual clamping lugs and bolts. In a further modification a pair of U-shaped bolts are arranged to embrace one half the bearing and pass through lugs on the other part. The lower section of the bearing in a further modification is pinned in position,
