[Also in Group XXVIII] A tube 2 which is to be joined to a tube 1 at a slight angle to the perpendicular is deformed at its end around half its circumference to form an internal flange 3 which embraces the tube 1, and an external flange 4 on the other half of its circumference also embracing the tube 1, the tubes being united by brazing or welding. Ornamental metal pieces may be brazed on to hide the edges of the tube 2.
