Abstract
552,193. Pipe joints. ADAMSON & CO., Ltd., D., and PARKYN, P. A. W. Sept. 22, 1941, No. 12218. [Class 99 (i)] In a joint for a boiler in which a tube 11 is expanded in a hole in a tube-plate 12 a groove or grooves in the wall of the hole contain a ring or rings of fusible metal or metal of low melting point such as lead. As shown two half rings are arranged in one groove 9 and two half rings in a registering groove 10 in the tube, flat faces of the rings engaging. Other grooves may be provided in the tube plate into which the tube is expanded.
