[Class 99 (ii)] A metal tube a, Fig. 1, for conveying fluids at high pressure is made thinner than is necessary to with. stand the internal pressure and is reinforced by a plurality of separate one piece, closed annular metallic bands or rings b located at intervals along the tube, the metal of said bands being of greater tensile strength than that of the tube. The bands are secured to the tube by shrinking, welding or rolling, and they may be of various crosssection, Fig. 3, and located in corresponding grooves in the tube.
