Abstract

519,783. Two part couplings. FOSTER INSTRUMENT CO., Ltd., FOSTER, C. E., and FENNELL, C. A. F. Sept. 29, 1938, No. 28334. [Class 38 (i)] A coupling for a pyrometer or other heat-sensitive device, which may be in the form of a thermocouple or a resistance, has the contacts of different cross-sectional shapes or sizes to ensure correct coupling. The connection head 7 of moulded insulation has socket contacts 8, 9 of different shapes to receive the ends of the thermocouple &c. which are shaped or fitted with extensions shaped to correspond with the sockets. Clamping screws 12 are provided. Similar lateral sockets with clamping screws 12a receive the ends of the leads from the measuring instrument and have similar shapes to the sockets 8, 9.
