[A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, April 24, 1939] [Class 64 (ii)] [Also in Group XX] In a temperature-responsive actuating-element comprising a Bourdon spiral 62 integral with a liquid tubular reservoir 63, the spiral is bent back or kinked at the terminating edge 65 of the ends 68 of the reservoir. The bend may be a right-angle and may comprise two bends, first to one side and then to the other. The end of the spiral may be attached to a movable arm for use as a remote thermometer.
