[Class 97 (iii)] [Also in Group XIII] A bimetallic helix 2, employed in a thermometer or thermostat, is mounted on its holder 1, which is a tube split longitudinally, by welding its end to a tongue 7 or to the tube, and by clenching a tongue 8 on to it at a point sufficiently far from point 7 to be unaffected by the heat of the welding operation.
