519,125. Rectifying alternatingcurrent. PATENTVERWERTUNGS - GES. HERMES. Sept. 15, 1938, No. 26999. Convention date, Sept. 15, 1937. [Class 38 (ii)] In a rectifying arrangement for supplying low voltage heavy current t loads such as electrolytic baths an'd comprising a number of dry metal compound rectifier units 1, 2 in parallel, a separate transformer 3 4 is provided for each unit and is connected thereto through short leads. Tappings are provided in the primary side of each transformer for fine adjustment of votage, and equalization of load is further facilitated by the provision of valves 7 for individually controlling the air cooling of each rectifier. The secondary windings of the transformers may be divided into two threephase groups interconnected by an interphase transformer. Alternatively, where groups of three single-phase transformers are employed for six-phase working, a similar increase in the conducting period of each rectifier element may be effected by providing each transformer with two secondaries in the form of straight bars 9, 10, Fig. 3,. each forming one. phase of a six-phase system.
