Abstract

517,083. Alloys; annealing. SERI HOLDING SOC. ANON. Aug. 12, 1938, No. 23882. Convention date, Dec. 29, 1937. [Classes 72 and 82 (i)] Alloys having a base of copper, nickel, iron, or aluminium contain both beryllium and zirconium, as follows : copper with 1.3-2.6 per cent. of beryllium and 0.2-0.5 per cent. of zirconium ; nickel with 1.4-1.7 per cent. of beryllium and 0.3-1 per cent. of zirconium ; iron or aluminium with 1-3 per cent. of beryllium and up to 0.5 per cent. of zirconium. The alloys are subjected to usual treatments, comprising quenching and reprecipitation hardening, with or without magnetic, electric, or mechanical treatment, which may be repeated.
