Abstract
516,909. Nozzle valves. HUNDERTMARK, G. July 29, 1938, No. 22633. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Jan. 31, 1939 ] [Class 135] A filling nozzle valve comprises a spring- loaded valve d in the nozzle b, which is opened by a hand-lever h and held open by a catch i engaging the lever. A float p is actuated, when the level in the tank or container which is being filled rises, to release the catch i by means of a cranked lever k, k<1> to allow the valve d to close. The releasing movement of the float p is assisted by a magnet u which co-operates with an armature p' on the float to provide an auxiliary assisting force which increases as the float rises. In a modification an arrangement utilising springs and a cranked'lever is provided for supplying this auxiliary force.
