410,870. Disinfecting -apparatus for waterwaste - preventers. SHORING, A. P., 1, Ernest Road, Portsmouth. Dec. 1, 1932, No. 34021. [Class 26.] In a device for adding disinfectant to the water in a cistern, of the kind comprising a container A for disinfecting-liquid, a spring- loaded outlet-valve F and means for intermittently operating said valve to release a small quantity of disinfecting-liquid, the container is fitted with a removable lid which carries all the movable parts of the valve together with the loading-spring I and an abutment therefor. The valve is of leather or rubber and is mounted in a carrier E secured to a stem D operating within a sleeve C under the influence of a lever K secured to the operating lever of the cistern, the return spring being secured between the stirrup B and the carrier E. A member J serves as the fulcrum of the lever K and may be drilled to provide a vent for the container. A filling-funnel L and an agitating-disc M are provided. The device may be secured in position by means of a strap embracing an upright column clamped to the wall or to the lid of the cistern.
