Abstract

486,974. Sanitary closets. GROENIGER, W. C. Dec. 31, 1936, No. 35898. Convention date, Jan. 4. [Class 26] In a method of flushing water-closets, air under pressure is introduced into the watersea] before, at the same time as or after the commencement of the flush, the air-supply terminating before the flush ceases. Water from an automatic shut-off valve 34 is supplied to the basin via the rim 16, a chamber 18 and a pipe 19. Air is supplied from a valve 26, which is linked to the valve 34 so that they may be operated in the required sequence by a single handle 28, by a pipe 22 which has inlets 23 and 25 to the basin, the former being designed to produce a vertical movement of the liquid in the basin and the latter being widened and flattened and arranged opposite the up-leg 17.
