Abstract
248,135. Franklin, J. S. Dec. 24, 1924. Closure members.-A pouring spout for a tank or container for liquid, adapted to be accommodated within the container in its inoperative position, displaces a closure member and so establishes communication between the container and the spout when pulled out to its extreme position. The closure member may be at the inner end of the spout and arrested on pulling out the spout or, as shown in the Figure, the closure member D may be fitted to an opening re-entrant housing B for the spout G which in the outer position displaces the closure member D by means of its flared end G<3>. A strainer may be fitted at the inner end of the spout. A recess F' in the container houses the spout handle G' in 'the closed position.
