Abstract

515,557. Trolley-wire clamp. WATSON, T. M. June 22, 1938, No. 18500. [Class 36] A trolley-wire terminal fitting comprises a body 5 having a longitudinal seating 6 for receiving the trolley-wire 9 and against which the trolley-wire is clamped by clamping members 13. The members 13 have jaws 14 partly embracing the trolley-wire and are drawn into slots 10 in the body 5 by bolts 16, the heads of which bear, with the interposition of washers 17, against bosses 12 of the body 5. The members 13, when drawn into the slots, draw the trolley-wire into tight engagement with its seating 6 and may also draw the wire partly into the slots. The length of the bolts may be such that their ends press on the trolley-wire and clamp the latter against the jaws 14 in the manner described in Specification 515,556.
