Abstract
444,466. Suspending conductors. HAHN, J., 12, Paul Heysestrasse, Munich, and RIECKEHEER, G., 7, Promenadestrasse, Leipsic, both in Germany. Nov. 6, 1935, No. 30724. [Class 36] A trolley-wire clamp comprises clamping jaws b, a formed at their upper ends respectively with male and female cones o, p which are adapted to be drawn one within the other so as to cause the lower ends of the jaws to grip the trolley wire c. As shown in Fig. 2, the cones are drawn together by a screwed stud q which secures the clamp to a supporting insulator d and which engages a screw-threaded hole in the male cone. In a modified construction, Fig. 5, the clamp is supported by a cable m having a looped end which is gripped between the surfaces of the two cones. The cones are drawn together by a nut l which screws on an externally threaded tubular extension g of the male cone. In another construction, similar to that shown in Fig. 5, the clamp is supported by a bolt which is passed upwardly through an aperture in the male cone in line with the tubular extension g.
