511,736. Steroscopic optical systems. ZEISS IKON AKT.-GES. Nov. 9, 1938, No. 32549. Convention date, Nov. 19, 1937. [Class 97 (i)] Two objectives 2, 3 of a stereoscopic camera are mounted in a common rotatable holder 1 by rotation of which the plane of convergence of the viewing directions can be obtained without appreciable displacement of the images in the direction of a line joining the centres of the objectives. When used for example to record side-by-side images on horizontally running film 5 using prisms 6 and 7, a rotation of the holder produces a longitudinal displacement of the images in opposite directions, to vary the plane of convergence but the accompanying transverse displacement is negligible. The holder 1 is geared to a disc 4 which indicates' the distance of the plane of convergence. The adjustment of the holder 1 may be coupled to the focusing adjustment.
