[Class 82 (ii)] [Also in Groups XI and XX] A reflector base is coated with an amorphous organic coating which is naturally highly glossy and metal is then deposited thereon from metal vapours in vacuo or at very low gas pressure to form a reflecting surface. The reflector base may be of sheet metal, synthetic resin, rubber or papier mache and the amorphous coating may be a stoved lacquer. Before application of the metal coating, the reflector base is heated : metal may be applied from vapours produced by cathode rays but such vapours are preferably produced without the help of an electric discharge. The reflecting surface may be of aluminium or silver and it may be protected by a coating of quartz deposited from quartz vapour produced by cathode rays. Specification 432,470, [Group XX], is referred to. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 refers also to coating the reflector base with glass or enamel. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
