490,884. Insulators. LORENZ AKT.- GES., C. Nov. 19, 1937, No. 31892. Convention date, Nov. 24, 1936. [Class 36] A high tension insulator with a cup-shaped projection is characterized in that its inner surface is provided with a metal coating and the edge of the projection has an inwardly projecting annular extension which is not covered by the metal coating. The extension may be a bead or flange. The head 1 of the insulator and the cup-shaped projection 2 are coated with a metal layer 3 preferably of silver burnt thereon and coated with copper. The cup-shaped projection is fitted with an inwardly projecting flange 5.
