Abstract
511,081. Wick-adjusting devices; stoppers. GLASS, L. S. March 28, 1938. No. 9495. [Class 75 (i)] [Also in Group XVII] The stopper of a preferably glass container for flints, wicks or other accessories for pyrophoric igniters is provided with a hook member for adjusting the wick of an igniter. The hook member may also be used for extracting cotton wool or other packing from an igniter. As shown in Fig. 2, a brass '&c. pin 12 with a bent - up end 14 extends co - axially through a cork, rubber or like stopper 10. The pin may be bent adjacent the lower surface 17 of the stopper to centralise the barb 14, or it may be fixed eccentrically in the stopper. As shown in Fig. 3, a hook member 20 consisting of a sheet metal stamping is provided on a screw stopper 18. If the stopper be made of synthetic resin, the hook members may be embedded therein during moulding. The stopper may screw on to the container, and the hook member may be riveted or welded to a metal stopper.
